Steven Campbell Medal

The Trust finances an annual ‘Steven Campbell Medal’ for a student artist of great promise and talent at the Glasgow Art School. This is open to application and nomination for the students who display ‘Poetic Creativity’ and the recipients are chosen by Carol Campbell, Glasgow School of Art Staff and nominees of the Trustees and Advisors to the Trust.

Steven Campbell Lecture

The Trust organises and finances an annual ‘Steven Campbell Lecture’ by a leading academic, artist or commentator on the contribution of Steven Campbell’s work to the National and International arena. This public event is open to all and is held in a leading artistic establishment.

Steven Campbell Travel Bursary

The Trust will provide an annual ‘Steven Campbell travel bursary’ to a young, promising artist in any genre to enable them to broaden their horizons and artistic and creative abilities. This will be open to application and nomination and the recipients will be chosen by the Trustees and Advisors to the Trust.

Steven Campbell Creative Workshops

The Trust will finance and organise ‘The Steven Campbell creative workshops’ for young people in areas of need in Glasgow city. The location and clients will be determined by the Trustees and Advisors to the Trust in collaboration with officers of Culture and Sport Glasgow.
The first workshops were delivered with Kelvingrove Art Gallery in October 2010.

Steven Campbell Master Class

The Trust will finance and organise ‘The Steven Campbell Master class’ for developing, creative artists across the country. The location and clients will be determined by the Trustees and Advisors to the Trust in collaboration with officers of Creative Scotland and other appropriate charitable and educational bodies.

The first master class was organised with Bruce McLean in Edinburgh in March 2011. The second master class was organised with Barry Yourgrau in Edinburgh in November 2011. The third masterclass was given by Peter Hill in Glasgow in November 2012.

Fundraising and Sponsorship

The Trustees will arrange appropriate fundraising activities such as auctions and sales of artefacts such as postcards and pamphlets and organise entertainment to attract financial support from interested parties. These will also raise awareness of the Trust and how benefactors can support the aims and objectives of the Trust. The Trustees will also make application to appropriate funding bodies for support to deliver the business of the Trust.

The first fundraising event was held at the Vic Cafe at Glasgow School of Art Students Union in April 2010.
